Located in the picturesque Surselva, on a sun terrace above the anterior Rhine Valley, lies the Rhaeto-Romanic mountain village of Falera.
On one hand, the historic site offers its visitors expected peace and quiet, but on the other hand it boasts its tourist and cultural attractions. Often referred to as the pearl of the tourism destination Flims Laax Falera, Falera is the starting point for countless hiking tours. You can reach the spacious ski area Flims Laax Falera by chairlift directly from the village.
St. Remigius church
A magnificent avenue, formed by lime and maple trees, leads from the village to the St.Remigius church. Perfectly blending in with environment, this vintage place of worship from the 15th century was built on a magnificent panorama terrace. Specialists see this church among the most beautiful and most interesting historical buildings in the Vorderrhein Valley. As landmark of Falera, it also the municipal coat of arms, and can be seen from afar in the valley.
Mirasteilas
The clear, clean air in Falera offers an optimal place to investigate the infinite universe. Mirasteilas is the first observatory in the canton Grisons. For the study of the universe, different instruments are available – among others, also the largest, publicly accessible telescope of Switzerland. From the beginner to the professional, all will get their money’s worth.
Park la Mutta - the Megalithic cult site
The Falera site, built in the Middle Bronze Age (1600-1200 BC), is the largest and most important megalithic site in Switzerland. It is under archaeological protection. The Megalithic place of worship is a unique center that combines astronomy, mathematics and Bronze Age cult.

Dive into the world-famous Lake Cauma, or do you prefer a bold jump into the glacier pots of Alp Mora? Would you like to paddle through the Rhine Gorge in a kayak, or do you prefer to trot to the viewing platform in a carriage? Treetop path, arrow arch path, or at least the agony of golf course choice?
From Falera you can reach all the attractions and natural spectacles of the «Alpenarena» on foot, by chairlift or by public transport.
Bath lakes - Caumasee, Crestasee, Laaxersee
Cooling down in one of the three bath lakes is the ideal finale to a bicycle or hiking tour. The Caumasee impresses with its turquoise water. At the Laaxersee, you can enjoy the view of the magnificent mountain panorama from the large sunbathing lawn. The Crestasee is famous for its clear water and is listed in the inventory of protected natural monuments.

Hiking
Want to discover the landscape around Flims one step at a time? You can explore one of the most diverse hiking regions of the Alps by foot over a total of 250 kilometres of hiking trails. You will cross crystal-clear mountain streams, cool off in turquoise-coloured lakes, hike through magical forests and marvel at natural wonders such as the Martinsloch opening and the Tschingelhörner.

On our culinary trail, we combine indulgence, activity and nature to create an unforgettable experience.
Golfclub Brigels
The Brigels golf course is located on the Tschuppina plateau at 1,300 meters above sea level and offers a wonderful all-round view of the mountains. The architect Mario Verdieri and nature have really created a small golf idyll together, interestingly shaped, but not strenuous to walk and with a phenomenal view. The golf idyll includes a 9-hole course, a 3-hole practice facility, a tiger park and a golf academy with driving range, putting green and the chipping-pitching green with sand bunker. (Driving time 40 minutes)
Buna Vista Golf Sagogn
Buna Vista Golf Sagogn is located in the idyllic area between the two villages Sagogn and Schluein. Here – above the young Vorderrhein – the attractive 18-hole golf course invites you to play, the driving range to practice and the Vista restaurant to linger and enjoy. Buna Vista is Rhaeto-Romanic and means ’beautiful view’. Rightly so, because the entire facility is fitted into the natural spaces of the young Rhine and offers a wonderful view of the Alpine panorama from Flims to Ilanz and up towards the Oberalp Pass. (Driving time 10 minutes)
Chur
Do you fancy the charm of the mountains or the pulsating city life? The alpine city Chur offers both. Picturesque alleyways and snow-covered mountains, modern shopping centres and genuine nature. Chur is simply “the alpine city”. Full of urban lust for life, in the midst of an alpine magic world.
In the middle of the lush countryside, the Chur Rhine valley, you will find gentle hills and sweet grapes.
Winter
Winter wonderland
Good powder, good punch, all good – or even better: Winter in Falera is as beautiful as a snow star, as exciting as a shooting star and as cozy as a flannel shirt straight from the dryer.
The world-famous winter destination Laax awaits with 224 kilometers of slopes, four snow parks and well-groomed toboggan and winter hiking trails right on the doorstep. The chairlift takes you from Falera to the heart of the ski area. In the evening, the valley run promises a perfect, last run. And then a stop at our hotel bar …
Ski & Snowboard
The Hotel Restaurant La Siala is situated directly at the village entrance of Falera. Our free shuttle bus takes you to the Falera valley station – the entrance to the Flims Laax Falera ski area.
For skiing or snowboarding in the region you can expect 224 km of slopes, 4 snow parks and 28 lifts. So once the alarm has rung, you will not wait to get on the slopes.
Winter hiking
You want to discover the winter step by step? Then winter or snowshoeing is perfect for you. On about 100 kilometers of hiking and walking trails we walk through our winter destination.
The entire winter hiking trail network is marked and prepared regularly for you. You have the choice to do the winter hikes or snowshoe tours as a short walk or all day, leisurely or sporty.
Cross-country skiing
If things are a little too fast on the mountain, there is a pleasant alternative available in Bargis, Flims, Sagogn and Trin. Here, you have a diverse network of cross-country trails with 62 kilometres of double marked trails at your feet. Whether you prefer classic or skate skiing, sporting thrills are guaranteed.
Sledging
Flims Laax Falera offers two sledging routes. Foppa-Flims is an approx. 3 km long run, and Curnius Falera with approx. 3.5 km length is another one.
From Curnius, you can sledge down the 3.5-kilometre-long sledging run down to the base station in Falera. From there, you can conveniently take the Falera-Curnius chairlift back to the starting point. In good snow conditions, the run is open every day for unlimited use.
